Rolling with da Cheese
Yeah it was Chicken, cheese and avocado today as we were back in the Leather sofa at the local cafe, cranking out another page on Photoshop and Indesign of ES in between earning a living. Things are looking good on The Cover Story with some really strong images from the new series of the Hulk. The ES cover is done, the ES icon is done (see opposite), the contents page is done and we are well into the cover story. 6 pages done, 54 to go and about 54 days to get them done… eek that’s a page a day. That doesn’t sound a lot but when your aiming to construct those super coloured rainbow structures (see post below) that just make you go Ooooooooooooooo, it’s full on baby!Lets hope we get there, may the force be with us, over and out Dave (Art Ed ES).
So, we’re starting a magazine…
Yes, I know there are many mags out there. Amongst Sponge Monthly and Fungus Enthusiast, why add another one I hear you ask. Well, because there’s not a mag like Extra Sequential. That’s because it hasn’t been released yet. But it will be. Hopefully. At ES, our aim is to show the world the glories of sequential art, ie, comic books. Despite what Hollywood may tell you, or what the ‘cool’ kids used to say, comics are hip. They’re now. They’re hippy and nowy. ES’s goal is to be a rainbow bridge between what comics are and what comics are perceived to be. We’re a ladder allowing pop culture lovers to climb to the dizzying heights of what’s new, and discover for themselves the pure, unhindered realm of this old, but always futuristic medium. So stay tuned and prepare to climb on our backs to witness something unexpected. Just don’t wear golf shoes. Please.
